By car: Take the C-32 Motorway south (45 kms.) Barcelona to Vilanova i la Geltrú. Take the C-31 road ( Garraf Coast road). Take the AP-7 Motorway until Vilafranca del Penedès and then take the C-15 road for 12 Km. to Vilanova i la Geltrú. |

By train: From "Passeig de Gracia" or "Sants" stations in Barcelona,direct to Vilanova on the line to Sant Vicenç the C-2 line. See www.renfe.es There are about 3 or more trains per hour and the price for a single trip ticket is about 2,30 Euros (2004). |

If you come by plane to the Barcelona International Airport: You can hire a car and drive to Vilanova using the C-31 coastal road or the C-32 Motorway. Take the airport train to the station of El Prat, and from there to catch a Vilanova train, on the Sant Vicenç C-2 line. |

TRAINS TOWARD BARCELONA (RENFE) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Using the train or bus is cheap here compared to in many western countries. A single train ticket to Barcelona for example costs 2,30 € in 2004, a ticket for 10 trips only costs 21 € and includes a linking metro/bus/tram trip within Barcelona. Various train lines pass through Vilanova which gives the opportunity to make various day trips from Vilanova without having to drive. From Vilanova you can take direct trains on the line to Maçanet north of Barcelona, to Lleida a regional capital, Port Aventura theme park in Vilaseca - Salou (near Tarragona), Tarragona with its roman history, and other sea side towns on the route of the coastal train.
